Bellagio

Sparking a new conversation about urban livability and resilience

In November 2012, the Municipal Art Society of New York convened a meeting with urban practitioners from a range of sectors including architecture, planning, local government, industry, environment and the arts, to discuss the challenges and opportunities in building cities that are both livable and resilient. This meeting was hosted by the Rockefeller Foundation’s Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio, Italy.

Foossa's Lee-Sean Huang was one of the urban practitioners in attendance, along with participants working in Mexico City, Mumbai, Johannesburg, Bandung, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Delhi, Rio, Paris, Nairobi, Karachi, Sao Paulo and London. Lee-Sean shared experiences and insights from his work with Meu Rio and documented the proceedings through social media and visualizations.
